fei yue had its annual dinner tonight. this yr its held at kia hiang restaurant at bukit merah. the food was not bad. healthy dishes. even won 9th prize in the lucky draw. this yr was extra fun not because of the food or the prize. its the whole feeling, the atmosphere there. volunteers and staff alike, went on stage to perform and sing songs from each era, the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. the 90s was represented by volunteers from the youth sector. zhou hua jian's peng you was sung. the ra-ra atmosphere was simply fantastic. the whole restaurant was just singing along, waving their hands, clapping their hands. beautiful songs by feng fei fei and liu wen zheng from the 70s and 80s were performed. the feeling is just great, simply wonderful. attended many such dinners very often, on average, once every month or every 2 months. haha. yeap i socialise a lot. anyway, tats not the point here. volunteers and staff at fei yue are indeed a great bunch of people, esp the youth sector. enjoyed myself totally everytime with fei yue. from the gathering to the volunteer appreciation bbq to the annual dinner. really enjoyed volunteering with fei yue. never regretted this decision. liked the organisation, liked the staff and volunteers, liked my friends i made there. thanks fei yue for a truly memorable and enjoyable night. =)

woah.. been almost a month since i last blogged.. been very tied down by fyp. sigh. still no progress done. God help me.
went for armour road relay(arr) today. was running for 54 SAB. total of 12 runners and we won 2nd place in the NS brigade category. woo hoo.. haha. considering that we have not trained at all, and that i have not run for quite some time, its quite an achievement i will say. won a medal. my 1st medal related to the army. not bad. been a nice experience. last arr i run in was during the active unit days in 40 SAR. nice feeling going back to sungei gedong again. met my mcc 2IC, warrant cheng. had a nice short chat with him. this trip back to sungei gedong for arr brought back many memories of my school of armour (soa) days. the vehicle shed, the cookhouse, the soc ground and grass patch where we did our mortar drills, the hq armour parade square where we had the armour anniversary parade on 2004, the only chance i got to wear the number 1. the smell of the grease and lubricant oils like sae 10 and sae 40. many changes had taken place though. bunks are "renovated". mcc is no longer in soa. guess changes are part and parcel of life, even in the saf. but 1 thing i think is true, and that is: Once Armour Always Armour. yeap..
Swift and Decisive we shall be..
now that arr is over, what's next? cobra challenge? am i ready for it? or am i even up for it? hmm.. we shall see..
hip hip hooray 54 SAB!!! hip hip hooray!!
